Fellowship Academy Athletics logo makeover
The athletics department of Fellowship Academy absolutely positively needed a new logo. They could no longer find a high-quality, vector version of their Athletic logo. In fact, the best version they had was a lo-res JPEG which you can see in the gallery below. I was contacted to not only rebuild the logo but to create one that would look good on hats, helmets and jerseys.
I started by reillustrating the mustang. I made some subtle changes to him. I made the outline stroke visibly bolder, the points of the mane just a little sharper and the eye just a little bit larger and more fierce. Because the mustang is used for other school departments, I didn’t change it much. Using the official school logo as a guide, I restored the original Pantone colors as closely as I could.
In researching the logo I drew inspiration from college and professional sports logos that I liked. I didn’t just want this to be a good high school logo. I wanted this to be a good sports logo. I used the shape of his neck and shoulder to smoothly integrate him into the two logos — a main logo for letterhead, jerseys, and other sportswear and a second logo for hats and helmets.
